What is a Land Surveying Service?

Land survey services or simply called surveying is the art and science of accurately determining the terrestrial or three-dimensional position of points above, on, or beneath the surface of the Earth, and the distances and angles between them to depict them in a usable form, or to establish the position of points and/or details.

Land survey cost in the Philippines depends on the scope of work and the case of the land. That said, the land survey fee in the Philippines usually range from PHP 7,000 to PHP 10,000.

Application of Land Survey Services

  • Initial surveys and environmental impact assessments of potential sites
    for construction

  • Measuring exact coordinates of site features

  • Establishing building lines and road alignments on site

  • Photogrammetry or the process of producing digital images of sites

  • Remote sensing or the mapping of land use with satellite photography

  • Geomechanics or the monitoring of land movement

  • Draughting 2D and 3D charts and maps

  • Hydrographic surveying or the gathering of data for canals, dredging
    operations, and more

Land survey services are often used to establish land maps and
boundaries for ownership which helps settle property line disputes. They are also used for government project purposes such as determining where roads and buildings shall be constructed.

Conventional Surveying

Tedious fieldwork, which may take months or years to complete, is often prone to delays.

Possibility of resurvey due to human error

No details of structures and features are included in final output

Need to set-up within high risk areas (i.e. illegal settlements) and access permits are required and often difficult to obtain

Surveying large areas require more manpower, equipment, and other resources making it more costly.

LIDAR Surveying

LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) uses laser pulses to capture precise 3D measurements of terrain, buildings, and vegetation. Mounted on a manned aircraft, it maps areas faster and more accurately than traditional surveying or UAV methods, providing reliable data for planning, disaster management, and infrastructure.

The fastest available commercial surveying method, LiDAR technology, shortens fieldworks by as much as 95%.

Human error is minimized, ensuring constant accuracy for all equipment used at 15mm

(recommended for highly vegetated areas)

All structural and natural features are included in final outputs

Entails virtually zero risk and requires only a few permits.

As the scope or area increases, the costs are relatively lowered and are less compared to traditional surveying methods.

MORE LAND SURVEYING SERVICES

We were amazed at how fast AB Surveying and Development's LiDAR mapping was as compared to conventional surveying methods.

With approximately 1,000 hectares of land area, the Kiangan, Ifugao project site was accurately generated as a topographic map and was very useful for the planning and design of the proposed Hucab Mini Hydro Electric Plant. The team was very accommodating and helpful in every step of the way, and they almost eliminated the need for physical site inspection because of their attention to detail!

Highly recommended to all our industry peers!
