Route Survey of Connection Facilities of a Proposed Power Plant in Bataan

Mariveles 9.PNG

Project Brief

This route survey was conducted to acquire the physical ground characteristic of the proposed alignment of the plant connection facilities from Mariveles Power Plant to the NGCP Mariveles substation. To assess the potential impact of the plant interconnection to the Luzon Grid, it is essential to conduct detailed engineering surveys, tower spotting and geological investigation.

For only a few hours, through aerial LiDAR surveying, a complete and accurate survey data of the 11KM route was gathered, acquiring a visually realistic digital representation of the terrain, called the colorized point cloud data. Several post-processing and office works were conducted to meet the requirements of the project. It includes the validation of centerline and right-of-way corridor limit, plan and profile mapping, design optimization of transmission line, tower spotting of 44 towers, diagonal sectioning at each tower site, digital terrain modelling, detailed topographic mapping, orthophoto processing, and parcellary survey.
