At ABSD, innovation is more than a milestone—it is a mindset.
In 1998, Antonio “Tony” Botor founded AB Surveying & Development (ABSD) with a clear vision: to transform the future of geospatial data in the Philippines. But ABSD’s roots run deeper—back to 1992, when Engr. Tony co-founded Geosystems Surveying Development, alongside four fellow University of the Philippines graduates in Geodetic Engineering. These early foundations would set the stage for a legacy of innovation and excellence in surveying.
In the company's early years, Tony was not only its founder—he was its only engineer. From planning and fieldwork to data processing and client management, he built ABSD’s service portfolio from the ground up. Today, as General Manager and CEO, Engr. Tony continues to drive the company’s direction and remains hands-on in product development, championing innovations that redefine how the built and natural environment are understood.
A licensed Geodetic Engineer, ASEAN-certified professional, and a proud alumnus of UP Diliman, Tony’s expertise bridges decades of experience with a bold commitment to the future.
After several iterations—from Geosystems to Prime Surveying—the company evolved into AB Surveying and Development in 1998. Since then, ABSD has played a key role in numerous high-impact projects for both the public and private sectors. Notable clients include Ayala Land Inc., Makati Development Corporation, Palmera Homes, Camella Homes, LPHI, and Masterpiece Asia, among others.
In 2016, ABSD took a bold leap forward, acquiring the Riegl VUX-1 LiDAR system, becoming the first in Southeast Asia to pioneer airborne LiDAR surveys using helicopter-mounted sensors. This advanced surveying technology unlocked safer, faster, and more precise surveying—particularly in hard-to-reach and hazardous terrains.
Today, AB Surveying and Development continues to deliver data-driven insights for the builders of tomorrow. We work at the intersection of engineering and technology, partnering with CRETC, the academe, and leading geo-professionals to shape the future of surveying.
